Freedom of Information Request – Communications with SCDE and Penalties for Over-Recruitment in Teacher Training
Dear Scottish Government,
I hope this message finds you well. Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I am requesting access to information held by the Scottish Government regarding the following topics:
Communications between the Scottish Government and the Scottish Council of Deans of Education (SCDE):
Copies of all correspondence (including emails, memos, letters, reports, or meeting minutes) sent or received by the Scottish Government regarding discussions with SCDE from January 2023 to the present date.
Penalties for Over-Recruitment in Teacher Training Courses:
- Any documentation or explanations regarding the absence of penalties or lifting of penalties for universities that over-recruit students into teacher training courses.
Details on the process followed if a university over-recruits into these courses, including how penalties are applied and what those penalties are.
- An explanation of whether these penalties have been stopped or paused, and if so, the reasons behind such decisions.
To keep this request manageable and within the £600 cost limit:
Please limit the search to communications and documents sent or received between January 2023 and the present date.
If retrieving this information is likely to exceed the cost limit, please let me know so I can refine the request accordingly.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you require any further clarification to process this request, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
James Orr
Yours faithfully,
