Dear Ms Lucas,
We refer to previous correspondence regarding your request for information
relating to: Council Disrepair and Tenant Services.
Information relating to costs of disrepair claims settled are held by
Legal Services Lincolnshire on our behalf. In order to extract this
information LSL have confirmed that they would need to review every one of
the cases individually which would take a considerable amount of time and
result in costs in excess of the £450 cost limit associated with FOIs.
This information is therefore withheld under Section 12 of the FOIA.
It is clear from researching this request that the way information is
stored for Disrepair Claims is not sufficient hence we are now looking to
implement a new procedure to accurately monitor and record this data.
The information that is held is given below:
1. Total expenditure by the council on legal disrepair claims during this
period. Information not available
2. The total compensation paid directly to tenants living in disrepair.
Information not available
3. A monthly breakdown of tenant boiler breakdown reports and repairs for:
- November 2023 = 156 boiler breakdowns of which all were completed within
24 hrs
- December 2023 = 56 boiler breakdowns of which all were completed within
24 hrs
- January 2024 = 149 boiler breakdowns of which all were completed within
24 hrs
- February 2024 = 84 boiler breakdowns of which all were completed within
24 hrs
4. The average wait time for addressing a boiler breakdown from the time
of the initial report to full resolution during each of these months. =
Average is 24 hrs
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response,
quoting the above reference number, via email at: [North Kesteven District Council request email] or
by post to North Kesteven District Council, Corporate and Customer
Services, Kesteven Street, Sleaford, Lincs, NG34 7EF.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted through their
website www.ico.org.uk, by email to [email address], by telephone
0303 123 1113 or in writing to Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe
House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
Yours faithfully
