Freedom of Information Request - Business Rates
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I would be interested in any information held by the local authority regarding my request. I understand that I do not have to specify particular files or documents and it is the departments responsibilty to provide the information I require. If you need further clarification please contact me by email.
I would like the information to be emailed to me in electronic form.
Please confirm:-
1) in the financial year 2019/20 please advise:-
I) total number of summons issued in the Magistrates Court for non-payment either in whole or and/or in part of non-domestic (business) rates
II) total number of Liability Orders obtained in the Magistrates Court for non-payment either in whole or in part of non-domestic (business) rates.
III) total number of referrals made to Enforcement Officers (Bailiffs) to enforce Liability Orders for non-payment either in whole or in part of non-domestic (business) rates.
If my request is denied in whole and/or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the Act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal any decision to withhold information and/or to charge fees from which this request should be exempt.
I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request. I look forward to your response within 20 working days as outlined by the statute.

position to respond.
The following information is in relation to South Norfolk District Council
and covers the period 01/04/2019-31/03/2020. Please be aware that these
figures relate to matters that have arisen during that period but do not
potentially solely relate to this financial year. In addition, due to
Covid-19 there are outstanding matters relating to March 2020, which do
not totally reflect an accurate yearly figure.
