Dear Ms Winfield,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. The answers to your
questions are below.

I should point out that these answers have been provided by Public Health
Dorset, a partnership which covers Dorset County Council, Bournemouth
Borough Council and Poole Borough Council. Public Health Dorset manages a
pooled budget on behalf of the three local authorities, and is unable to
differentiate spend across these three local authority areas, each of
which also retain some budget for substance misuse treatment. It holds the
budget for residential detoxification for all three areas, and for
residential rehabilitation for Poole and Dorset. Prior to 2018-19, spend
for the two elements of rehabilitation and detoxification was recorded
under one budget code, and therefore it is not possible to differentiate
between the two. Recording processes have been updated for 2018-19 and
therefore we are able to supply separate budget amounts for detoxification
(all three local authority areas) and rehabilitation (Poole and Dorset
only).

1.            I request your budget for the year 2017-2018 for the
following services, where possible I would request that these figures are
supplied separately for each service:

•             Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Detoxification

•             Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation

£514,800 (detoxification/rehabilitation budget not separated in 2017-18)

2.            I request your actual spend for the year 2017-2018 for the
following services, again where possible I would request that these
figures are supplied separately for each service:

•             Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Detoxification

•             Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation

£769,825 (detoxification/rehabilitation spend not separated in 2017-18)

3.            I request your budget for the year 2018-2019 for the
following services, where possible I would request that these figures are
supplied separately for each service:

•             Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Detoxification - £275,000

•             Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation - £150,000

If you are not completely satisfied with our response, please contact us
again stating that you wish to submit an Internal Review (the first step
of the FOI appeals process). This will be dealt with by our Manager, who
does not get involved with the processing of FOI requests in order to
remain neutral. If your appeal is not resolved to your satisfaction, you
have the right to apply to the [1]Information Commissioner for a decision.

Yours sincerely,
