Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information regarding the provision of real time audio-visual announcements at bus stops within your council's area:
1. Total Number of Bus Stops:
The total number of bus stops in your council area.
2. Number of Bus Stops fitted with real time audio information systems:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with audio information.
3. Number of Bus Stops with real time visual information:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with visual announcements.
4. Implementation Details:
a. A brief description of the criteria or policy used to determine which bus stops are equipped with audio and/or visual announcements.
b. A brief description of the requirements of audio and/or visual announcements, as defined by the local transport authority.
5. Future Plans:
Any future plans or strategies for increasing the coverage of audio and/or visual announcements at bus stops.

The total number of bus stops in your council area. Sunderland City
Council does not hold this information. This information may be held by
Nexus.
2. Number of Bus Stops fitted with real time audio information systems:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with audio information.
Sunderland City Council does not hold this information. This information
may be held by Nexus.
3. Number of Bus Stops with real time visual information:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with visual announcements.
Sunderland City Council does not hold this information. This information

b. A brief description of the requirements of audio and/or visual
announcements, as defined by the local transport authority. With regards
to shelters managed through Council contracts, the clear channel shelters
do not have any real time audio or visual fitted but they have the sockets
available if they were to be fitted in the future. Further information may
be held by Nexus.
5. Future Plans:
Any future plans or strategies for increasing the coverage of audio and/or
visual announcements at bus stops. Sunderland City Council does not hold
this information. This information may be held by Nexus.
This information has been provided in response to a Freedom of Information
request and this must be acknowledged in any subsequent use of the
information. In addition, the authority must be notified of any proposed
re-use of this information for commercial or other purposes.
