I write in connection with your request for information dated 28^th July

Officer.

Role Profile

 

To ensure that the force meets its statutory obligations in respect of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) and the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004 (the Regulations) and to maintain a
professional corporate approach to disclosure of information, taking into
consideration both local and national issues.

 

• To research and locate documentation and statistics in relation to
complex and varied requests received under the Act and Regulations.
Interpret the data, make assessments on disclosure, identify risk (local
and national) and provide documented evidence of harm with a balanced
public interest test.
• To interpret the relevant legislation, effecting disclosures and fully
document the rationale behind disclosure/non-disclosure.
• To maintain the integrity of sensitive policing data whilst adhering to
the principles of openness and transparency in respect of policing
information.
• Provide evidence of reasoning and attend Tribunal hearings in cases of
legal challenges against decisions as directed.
• To carry out consultation with all affected parties, including external
agencies, other forces and identifiable individuals in line with Section
45 Code of Practices.
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant
external bodies.
• Attend meetings as required at a local and national level and represent
the Force on relevant national and regional committees and working groups.
• To regularly review the content of the force Publication Scheme to
ensure legislative requirements of the act are being adhered to.
• To assist in the provision of advice to the force on the application of
the Act.
