Dear Mr King
Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information
I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Under the Freedom of Information Act the Authority has the right to refuse an applicant information held if an exemption applies. The Authority believes in this case such an exemption applies and has decided to refuse your request.
We believe that the information is exempt under Section 40(2) as the information you have requested is the personal data of third parties and to release it would be a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.
If you are unhappy with the way the authority has handled your request, you may ask for an internal review. Please contact the Corporate Information Governance Team, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, Civic Centre, Ferrybridge Road, Castleford, WF10 4JH who will arrange an internal review of your case.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow SK9 5AF.
Any future correspondence you may have with the Authority in relation to this matter should be marked private & confidential and sent to the Freedom of Information Officer, at the above address.
Yours sincerely
