Wolverhampton City Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Wolverhampton City Council,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I seek the following information about Anand Primary School:

1. How many children did the school open with?
2. How many children are now currently in the school?
3. What % of the children are from a Sikhism background and what % were from a non Sikhism background?
4. How many governors does the school have and how were they selected? Ive looked in local press and local governor websites and no adverts have been placed? Is this a closed shop that often happens with Free Schools?
5. Who has been the lead throughout during the whole process? What qualifications do they have?
6. Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara has been given as a business address, What is the Gurdwara’s relationship with the school and is the school a Faith School
7. Paul Uppal was recently in the news with the school, is he a governor or a member of the Trust? What has his involvement been with the school?
8. Looking on the website a football fan club called Punjabi Wolves organised a fun day. What was the process of selecting a football fan club for the children’s school event as no other Free School have used fan clubs
9. On page 11 of the Prospectus you offer “Be Time, Tailored learning extra-curricular activities”. What activities are being offered and how are these being funded?
10. How will Sikhism be taught to non Sikhs, will the school be preaching Sikhism looking to convert young children into the faith

does not come under the remit of the Council. Anand Primary School is a
Free School and is not the responsibility of the Local Authority.  If you
require this information you will need to submit your request directly to
the school.
