Dear Stevenage Borough Council,

Through the company website and through other sources I understand that PureGym, due to open in Stevenage shortly are offering free parking through Stevenage BC

Can you advise if Stevenage BC are offering free parking to PureGym or have they purchased a number of spaces from the SBC to allow prospective members the parking.

If SBC are providing PureGym with free parking will this also be available to other businesses.

If this is a policy of SBC please advise of the process to follow

Yours faithfully,

Paul Kendall

Dear Mr Kendal,

We refer to your request dated 18 April 2019 regarding the provision of
parking to PureGym. Please disregard the response provided on 29 April
2019.

The Council’s position is that the information you have requested is
exempt from disclosure under s43 Freedom of Information Act 2000, as to
disclose it would be likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the
council.

The council is engaged in a number of on-going negotiations for commercial
leases and other commercial arrangements with new and existing tenants
within the town and to disclose the terms agreed with an individual tenant
is likely to adversely affect the Council’s negotiating position and lead
to a failure to secure the best deal for the public.

For this reason, whilst recognising the public interest in transparency
and openness, we are satisfied that the public interest in withholding the
information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it.

Finally, should you wish this decision to be reviewed in the first
instance, please contact;
