Thank you for your recent request for information which I have enclosed
below for ease of reference. Your request has been treated in accordance
with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and/or the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004.

Your Request : REQ11070

I can confirm that we hold information that falls within the scope of your
request. The answers to your questions have been provided in red text
below.

1) In the financial year 2021/22 what was the outturn for provided foster
care?  £3,467,000

2) In the financial year 2021/22 what was the outturn for purchased foster
care? £2,157,000

b) The average proportion of foster care placements in the financial year
2021/22, in percentage terms, that were purchased from independent
agencies 23%

3) What is the total number of looked after children?  378

4) The number of looked after children who are being accommodated via
purchased fostering service,  51 CLA placed with Agency Foster Carers

b) The exact number of children in each of the contracts held by a
purchased fostering service, specifying the agencies used. 

5) The number of looked after children who are being fostered via the
local authority provider  145 CLA placed with NCC Foster Carers note this
does not include connected person foster carers.

6) The number of looked after children who are placed outside of the local
authority 130 Children (note this is all placements outside the LA e.g.
pending adoption, NCC Fostering, Agency Fostering, residential placements
etc)

7) The average number of registered Foster carers who receive a fee from
the local authority provider between 14th December 2019 to 14th December
2022, broken down by years.

2019/20 – 208

2020/21 – 183

2021/22 – 198

8) The number of foster carers de-registered from the local authority
provider between 14th December 2019 to 14th December 2022, broken down by
years. 

14/12/19 – 14/12/20 = 22

14/12/20 – 14/12/21 = 22

14/12/21 – 14/12/22 = 20

Where dates are not specified please give the most up to date figure,
