Dear Luton Borough Council,

Please could you tell me your 2015-16 weekly foster care allowances for all age bands, NOT including any fee/reward element for foster carers.
Please also include weekly payments to former foster carers looking after young people aged 18+ under the staying put provisions of the Children and Families Act 2014.

I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the Council under the Freedom of Information Act.
Please find your response below.
The Local Authority has 3 bands or scales for fostercarers in LBC Staying Put.
Weekly costs for Luton Borough Carers are:
Scale 1 £110.00 Housing benefit claim, LBC top up £45.00 Scale 2 £110.00 Housing benefit claim, LBC top up £113.00 Scale 3 £110.0 Housing benefit claim, LBC top up £158.00
If the fostercarer does not receive housing benefit the Council may consider the equivalent or a top up but only if they are entitled to the rent allowance of £60.00
Independent Foster Agency carer costs vary due to the differing rates of the agencies themselves and the needs of the young person.
