Freedom of Information Mailbox, Buckinghamshire County Council

Dear Ms Elliott

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for contacting Buckinghamshire County Council.

Your request for information has now been considered and our response is
as follows:

Please could you tell me your 2019-20 weekly foster care allowances for
young people age 16-18 years?

Please see:
[1]https://www.buckscc.gov.uk/services/care...

Please could you tell me your 2019-20 weekly allowances to former foster
carers looking after young people in 18+ Staying Put arrangements, broken
down by year 1, year 2, and year 3+ if necessary?

Staying put is paid at £304 a week. This is the same rate as 16+ basic
rate (£360) minus clothing, pocket money and savings which the carer no
longer provides the young person. Skills payment is paid at a reducing
rate over the 3 years.

Year 1 – (Up to 19th birthday)

The “Staying Put” provider will continue to receive the skills payment as
usual.

Year Two

Following the young person’s 19th birthday the Skills Fee is reduced by
25%.

Year Three

From the young person’s 20th birthday the Training and Skills Fee is
reduced by a further 25% and the carer will be receiving 50% of their
original Training and Skills fee.

If you have a complaint about the handling of your request then please use
