The request was successful.

Dear Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Forum,

Can you tell me has the forum considered appealing or taking any action in regards to the areas that have been removed from the forum by Mayor John Biggs and officers.

Yours faithfully,

Abdul Hai

Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Forum

Dear Abdul,
We considered appealing and we believed we would win but to do would have
required a judicial review and we did not have the time nor money to
pursue it.
After been delayed 16 months we did not want to risk more delay.
Ironically the government changed the rules after we submitted our
application saying Councils had to make the decision in 13 weeks.
But in the Cabinet meeting in April 2016 a member of the Forum asked why
the area was being reduced in size. The answer we received was that the
Council had received external legal advice. But no, you cannot see it.
At this point I should declare I am also Councillor Andrew Wood,
Councillor for Canary Wharf ward. But the Forum is a non-political
resident led organisation.
I asked if I as a Cllr if I could see the legal report, no you are not
allowed to see it!
We should have done an FOI asking for the external legal advice but never
got around to it.
The move cost us time and money but the solution is to set up a new Forum
in the area removed last April. Although delayed I plan to start that work
in late October once the quick Plan has been submitted. Sister Christine
is doing something similar in Poplar.
Let me know if you have any questions,

Andrew Wood

Dear Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Forum,

Thanks Andrew. If you want to you can still request the legal report under FOI.

Also you should ask how much did it cost the council?

Yours sincerely,

Abdul Hai
