Forged court orders
Dear Ministry of Justice,
Please provide the following information.
1 How many cases of forged court orders are discovered every year? That is to say, orders which have not been made by a Judge but prepared by one party pretending the document is an order and forging the Court seal.
2 Of those cases how many alleged forgers have been prosecuted?
3 What have been the outcomes of those prosecutions?

Identify the period for which the request is to cover, annual data for 2020, 2021 etc.
2019-2022 inclusive
• Does Q1 refer to the number of cases where HMCTS has supported the investigation
of forged court orders.
Yes
• Does Q1 refer to the number of cases where both the court order and the court seal are forged.
Yes.
Are there cases where only the court order is forged?
• Does Q2 refer to the number of cases where HMCTS has supported the investigation to subsequent prosecution.
Yes
• Anything else
