Sammy Cunningham

Dear Transport for London,

Would like to find out the total number of trips completed on buses and tube usinf foreign contactless bankcards for the year 2018?

Also, what are the three most common countries where contactless is used? Thank you

Yours faithfully,
Sammy Cunningham

For security/privacy reasons, I doubt they would be able to tell what kinds of cards are used, but we will see. But why ask about other countries? Your request is very broad and could mean anything from transport, to use in shops, also not specifying the type of transport, and I am suprised you expect them to hold statistics on every other metro system in the world and their contactless usage. Seems a tad unreasonable?

I read it that he was asking which countries cards are the most popular.

I re-read the question and still cannot read it like that.

Thank you for your email received by us on 22 April 2019 asking for
information about journeys made on London Buses and London Underground
using foreign contactless cards.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
You asked for:

the total number of trips completed on buses and tube using foreign
contactless bankcards for the year 2018?

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested because
our ticketing systems do not record this data in the required format as
