For the release of summary voting information following public consultation
Dear Sefton Borough Council,
Built Environment, Traffic Management & Road Safety.
Re Victoria Road, Formby and adjacent Streets parking restrictions.
Please provide summary voting results by proposed choice of solution and for each of the roads polled; which led to the parking control orders now in place in Harington Road and Victoria Road and which are currently being reviewed following an unadvertised meeting in Squirrel Green on 18th June 2012.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Alley
Dear Sefton Borough Council,
Please also state the number of eligible households in each road.
The current poll results may be affected by the answer to this request and it is noted that despite the probability of such a request as this; insufficient time has been allowed to allow a considered response to the poll once the reply is received.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Alley
Mr Alley,
I refer to your recent request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. Your request has now been considered and I would respond as follows to the specific questions which you asked:
"Please provide summary voting results by proposed choice of solution and for each of the roads polled; which led to the parking control orders now in place in Harington Road and Victoria Road and which are currently being reviewed following an unadvertised meeting in Squirrel Green on 18th June 2012."
Firstly, I need to clarify that the existing Orders on Harrington and Victoria are not being reviewed, the latest consultation which has been distributed is to consider additional restrictions.
To answer your question attached are the following:
Summary of responses received to 2007 consultation- names and addressed have been removed to protect personal information. A total of 128 questionnaires were distributed. 76 to Victoria and 52 to Harrington.
Copy of Area Committee report dates 15th February 2007 - the minutes show that Members approved the recommendation.
You then asked a second question:
"Please also state the number of eligible households in each road. The current poll results may be affected by the answer to this request and it is noted that despite the probability of such a request as this; insufficient time has been allowed to allow a considered response to the poll once the reply is received."
I have already supplied above the number of consultations distributed in the poll in 2007. I will assume that this question relates to the current consultation. The following number of consultations have been distributed:
Argarmeols Road 85
Victoria Road 15
Birch Green 34
Squirrel Green 19
Proctor Rd 38
Gorse Way 30
Dunes Drive 29
Harington Rd 47
Larkhill Lane 34
I do not fully understand the final part of your request when you state that:
"...it is noted that despite the probability of such a request as this; insufficient time has been allowed to allow a considered response to the poll once the reply is received."
If you could clarify this I will endeavour to answer further.
Finally, for completeness, I should point out that other reports have been considered by Members of the Area Committee regarding parking restrictions in this area since the report made in February 2007. These can be accessed through the Councils website
I trust that this answer your query. However, if you require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Dave Marrin,
With respect to your clarification request:- I was concerned that if you required all of the allowed time to respond , I would be too late to reply to the poll. In the event you were very prompt in responding fully, for which I thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Alley
I am out of the office until Monday 19th November. I will deal with your
email on my return.
