I shall be pleased if you will confirm whether you hold information for the purposes of journalism, art or literature, in respect of the recent media reports that Liverpool Football Club staff had, in the past, hacked into the computer system of another Premier League football club.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Football Club Computer System Hacking (2nd Request)'.

The BBC has refused my FOI request by claiming that it was excluded from the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on the grounds that any information that might be held by the BBC would be for the purposes of journalism, art or literature. My request was not asking for information that was held for such purposes. My request was merely asking whether the BBC actually held the information. I was not requesting any information that was excluded from the FOI Act, but was asking to know whether the information was or was not held.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Yours faithfully,

P Templeton

Dear P Templeton,

The BBC does not offer an internal review when the information requested is not covered by the Act. If you disagree with our decision you can appeal to the Information Commissioner.

Their contact details are:-

Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire
SK9 5AF

Tel: 0303 123 1113

or see http://www.ico.org.uk

Please note that should the Information Commissioner’s Office decide that the Act does cover this information, exemptions under the Act might then apply.

Yours sincerely,
