Food standards Inspection Reports

I. Martin made this Freedom of Information request to Bury Metropolitan Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Bury Borough Council,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Please could you provide the latest food standards Inspection Reports for food premises on Bury New Road & Bury Old Road. These should be the detailed reports as provided to the food premises. My preference would be to receive these in electronic format.

In the event that the £450 cost limit be breached by this request, I would be prepared to narrow the scope and prioritise those premises with "scores on the doors" of 0, 1 and 2 stars over those with 3-5 stars.

Yours faithfully,

I. Martin

Hoyle, Steve.J, Bury Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear I.Martin
Further to your freedom of information request regarding food premises in
Bury perhaps you could clarify the following:-

* Your request refers to food standards inspections which are carried
out by Trading Standards Officers to check on food composition and
labelling. As you also refer to "scores on the doors" do you mean food
hygiene reports which are separate from food standards?
* Do you require reports for both Preswich & Whitefield
* Do you require all food premises or just traditional caterers (eg
cafes, restaurants, hotels ,pubs takeaways, sandwich shops)? A number
of businesses which sell food but are classed as low risk do not get
inspected unless a complaint is received about them.

As we are talking about a significant number of businesses whose records
need to be accessed individually it is likely that the work involved will
exceed the £450 limit.
You may be aware that the food hygiene rating of all Bury`s caterers are
now available to view at [1]www.food.gov.uk/ratings

I look forward to hearing from you
Regards
Steve Hoyle (Unit Manager - Food Safety)

Dear Mr Martin
I have obtained the reports you requested and your preference was to receive them electronically. However as they are scanned documents to do this would exceed my mailbox capacity. I could either send them by post if you let me have an address of alternatively you could collect them from this office
Please let me know which you prefer

Steve Hoyle

Hi
I was aware of the previous e mails, Steve Hoyle is currently on
holiday. As I mentioned to you in my letter to get them to you
electronically we have had to print previously scanned documents and
re-scan. As a result the quality is extremely poor for a number of
documents to the point that they are unreadable electronically. If you
insist I will send them in that condition alternatively if you do not
wish to give me a postal address they can be collected from this office.

Andrew Johnson
