Following up IAPT referral drop outs
Dear Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust,
Given that almost two thirds of all IAPT’s referrals each year never begin a course of treatment or drop out before they finish a course of treatment please inform me how many referrals who have dropped out of your IAPT service have been followed up between 2013 and 2022, when are they followed up and with what results.
Yours faithfully,
Paul Atkinson
Dear Paul,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - SECTION 8 REQUEST
I am writing regarding your request for information dated 24/08/2022. In
order to identify if we hold the information you have requested, we will
need to seek some further clarification from you.
I would be grateful if you could please clarify what you mean by “followed
up”. Are you referring to cases where a patient receives a new referral /
completes a new self-referral after they “dropped out”?
Please provide me with a response by 15/09/2022. Once we have received the
further clarification needed, we will be able to process your request
further. However, please note that in the meantime your request will be
placed on hold.
Kind regards,
Paul Bransgrove

Dear FOI (OXLEAS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),
"I would be grateful if you could please clarify what you mean by “followed
up”. Are you referring to cases where a patient receives a new referral /
completes a new self-referral after they “dropped out”? "
I am asking about all forms of follow up: contacting referral to reengage, offering a different kind of therapy, signposting to another service, asking what the problem is, contacting GP when patient is a GP referral.
Any kind of follow up after someone drops out.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Atkinson
