FOI request summary
Dear Transport for London,
As you don't publish online a full log of FOI requests, can I please ask for a summary log covering the last 12 months of FOI requests made to TfL covering all modes under the TfL auspices as covered on http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/modesoft...
I would like the date of the request and a summary of what information was requested.
Yours faithfully,
Felicity Groombridge

Dear Ms Groombridge
Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 17 May
2011 asking for a summary log relating to the number of Freedom of
Information (FOI) requests received by TfL over the past 12 months.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and I can confirm that TfL does hold the information
you require.
There were 2008 Freedom of Information (FOI) / Environmental Information
Regulation (EIR) requests in the 2010/11 financial year (1 April 2010 –
31 March 2011).
They are broken down into 13 four week periods below.

FOI and EIR requests for the different areas of TfL are dealt with using
different internal logging systems meaning that obtaining case summaries
would involve searching through five different databases used in 2010/11
and manually going through each individual case in order to retrieve and
extract the case summary. Four of these databases do not have the
functionality to report summaries of the FOI and EIR requests TfL
received. This work would substantially exceed the cost limit as set out
in section 12 of the FOI Act and accordingly we are not able to provide
you with a summary of all of the cases received in 2010/11.
However, I am able to provide case summaries and dates for all FOI and EIR
requests that have been handled by the FOI Case Management Team. The team
was set up on 11 November 2010 (when Group Customer Services ceased
handling FOI and EIR requests) to centrally process all FOI and EIR
requests received by TfL, except those received by LU and Crossrail, and
the attached file will contain date and summary information for all FOI
cases received from that date until 31 March 2011.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely

Dear Ms Groombridge
Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 June
asking for information about FOI requests received by London Underground
in the last 12 months. Your request has been considered in accordance
with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and TfL’s
information access policy. I can confirm we do hold some of the
information you require.
Prior to August 2010 FOI and EIR requests were managed through a system
that does not allow me to report on case summaries, as explained by Lee in
his earlier response. However I can provide data from August 2010
when we changed how we managed cases. The attached file will contain
date and summary information for all FOI cases received from that date
until 31 March 2011.
If you would like any information for this financial year please let me
know.
I hope this information is useful, if you have any further questions or I
can help further please contact me on 0845 3309880.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
