FOI Request re advertising, shortlisting, selection and appointment process for the new Board for the Office of Students

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Education,

Following the publication of the members of the new Board for the Office for Students, and the public outcry about the make-up of the Board, I would like to request information about the advertising, shortlisting, selection, and appointment process of the new Board, including job descriptions, person specifications, along with full gender, ethnicity, and other diversity stats.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Peter Phillips

An interesting response which shows an open process which brought in a couple of hundred applications from a relatively balanced group of candidates. I remain surprised that the Person of Interest was appointed through this process however. There is no justification for this appointment in this material. Some of the appendices are sensitive in that we might be able to track back because of the small numbers??? Really???
