Dear Ms Cummings

We have started to review your request.
However, I wanted to draw to your attention that ethnicity is not a mandatory field of data in applications and each year around 50% of applicants do not provide their ethnicity therefore the data we provide you will not give a true picture. Do you still wish to proceed on this basis?
In addition, you have asked for data going back to 2008/09 which is an extensive piece of work. Looking at our records it appears as though we have only had two enrolments where the ethnicity has been recorded as gypsy, roma or traveller and these were in 2015/16 and 2016/17. And in terms of applications again the earliest we have recorded with this ethnicity classification is 2014/15. Therefore we would like to suggest that you reduce the range of years you are requesting data for.

Please could you confirm how we wish to proceed.

Many thanks
