FOI Request - Mother and Baby Units

We're waiting for Megan Steventon to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Warwickshire County Council,

I would like to make a freedom of information request on the following:

1. Does the council have a demand for Mother and Baby units, specifically for mothers with mental health conditions?
2. Does the council make SPOT purchase placements for Mother and Baby units?
3. Could you please provide the email address and telephone number of the person or team responsible for commissioning Mother and Baby units?
4. How many mother and Baby units are currently commissioned in the borough?
5. How long does the council typically expect mothers and babies to remain in a mother and Baby unit placement?
6. What is the weekly cost of a mother and Baby unit placement? Please provide both the upper and lower limits, if applicable.

Thank you for your attention to this request. I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Megan Steventon

Dear Ms Steventon,

Freedom of Information Act 2000

I am writing to ask you to clarify your request. This is because we are
not certain that we have understood your request correctly and need
further details from you in order to identify and locate the correct
information.

Therefore, can you please provide us with your definition of a mother and
baby unit as we are not sure that this is information that Warwickshire
County Council will be able to provide.

A traditional mother and baby unit is usually commissioned by the NHS as
they are a form of inpatient treatment for mothers with severe and complex
mental health needs and for children generally up to the age of one. In
some circumstances, this includes mothers under the age of 18 with
admissions managed by CAMHS.

I will not be able to take this matter further without this extra
information from you. Please let me know by 29/11/2024.

If I do not hear from you within the timeframe provided, I shall take it
that you do not wish to pursue this request and will consider the request
closed.

If you need assistance, please contact me on 01926 413716 or [email
address].

Yours sincerely
