Please note, you do not have to specify whether you are making your
request under the FOI Act or under EIR.  The officer dealing with your
request will ensure it is processed under the relevant

If you are requesting information in relation to a deceased person and
have not yet provided the required proof of eligibility and identity, your
request will not be processed until we received

I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.

Wakefield Council’s Children & Young People’s Service does not run any
training of this nature, but works in conjunction with the Wakefield
Safeguarding Children Partnership, which has provided the following
information which you may find useful:

“Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership does not provide any formal
or ongoing training in relation to modern slavery. However, we do have
some information listed on our website as part of our wider child
exploitation section which signposts to modern slavery and human

From an Adults perspective, the Communities department offers training to
staff on a request basis. However, this is just general background to
human trafficking, covering what it is, what the signs are, and how to
report and where:
