The request was successful.

Dear Bolsover District Council,

I would like to request the following information about any eco-friendly steps your council is currently taking to reduce their carbon footprint on the planet and improve sustainable development within the area:

1. Does the council take any of its energy from on-site renewable energy installations? If so, which ones?
2. Are there any eco-friendly initiatives for staff members to partake in? E.g. green transport solutions, recycling initiatives. If so, please state them.
3. Who is the main energy supplier for local council buildings, and are you on a green/renewable energy tariff with them?

Please provide the above information as a Word Document.

If the request is unclear, please do contact me as it is my understanding that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Your request for information has been considered and, to the best of our
knowledge, the information we hold which relates to your request is as
follows:

I would like to request the following information about any eco-friendly
steps your council is currently taking to reduce their carbon footprint on
the planet and improve sustainable development within the area:

1. Does the council take any of its energy from on-site renewable energy
installations? If so, which ones?

The council has PV installed at 3 of its commercial premises – The Arc,
The Tangent and Riverside Depot.
2. Are there any eco-friendly initiatives for staff members to partake in?
E.g. green transport solutions, recycling initiatives. If so, please state
them.

We encourage recycling within our commercial buildings, providing bins and
tubs for batteries, Cardboard, metals and plastic.  We offer cycle to work
schemes and are exploring electric vehicle leasing options which will be
available for all staff.

3. Who is the main energy supplier for local council buildings, and are
you on a green/renewable energy tariff with them?

We procure our energy through the CCS framework. Electricity is supplied
by EDF Energy and gas by Total Gas & Power through this framework we
utilise the L6 basket.  We also recently signed up to the Heat Networks &
Electricity Generation Assets (otherwise known as HELGA) DPS
Agreement through CCS which guarantees that all our energy is sourced from
renewable sources.

I hope that you are satisfied with our response. However, if you are
dissatisfied in any way with the handling of your information request your
next step would be to clearly state in writing why you are dissatisfied
