I am writing to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I would like to request the following information:

Banking provider refers to: an institution that deals in money and its substitutes which provides money-related services including but not limited to accepting deposits, making loans and providing credit card services.

3. The name of the insurance company or companies that currently provide [name of body] with the following types of insurance coverage:

Dear Mr. Taylor,
Thank you for your email. We appreciate your patience regarding your FOI
request, and we sincerely apologise for the delay in our response.
We are committed to handling all FOI requests in accordance with statutory
requirements and have taken immediate steps to address the circumstances
that led to this delay. Upon review, we found that the initial request was
sent to an incorrect email address, which affected our ability to respond
within the required timeframe.
To prevent similar issues in the future, we have:

• Contacted the “What Do They Know” service and updated our records with
the correct data protection email address, [ICMP request email], to
ensure all FOI requests are directed to the correct department.
• Issued an all-staff bulletin reminding everyone of the importance of
forwarding any FOI requests or similar enquiries directly to our data
protection mailbox if received via other channels.
• Initiated additional mandatory training sessions for staff to ensure
full understanding and compliance with our FOI handling procedures.
We have now prioritised your request and will respond to it shortly, with
due consideration of applicable FOIA exemptions.

Thank you for your request regarding information on banking and insurance
providers for the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP),
submitted under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

 

We appreciate your interest in our institution; however, I must inform you
that ICMP Management Ltd operates as a privately owned institution and is
therefore not classified as a “public authority” under the FOIA (Freedom
of Information Act 2000, Section 3). As a result, we are not legally
obligated to respond to FOIA requests. The FOIA primarily applies to
public sector bodies or institutions conducting public functions as
specified by statute, which does not include private educational
institutions such as ICMP.

 

Additionally, the nature of the information requested—specifically
regarding our banking and insurance providers—includes commercially
sensitive data. Disclosing details of financial service providers, the
services used, and specific insurance policies could impact ICMP’s
commercial interests and competitive standing. Even if FOIA did apply to
us, such information would be exempt from disclosure under Section 43 of
the FOIA, which protects commercially sensitive information that, if
disclosed, could prejudice the commercial interests of an organisation.

 

I trust this clarifies our position. While ICMP is committed to operating
transparently, our private and commercial status precludes us from FOIA
obligations.
