FOI: Number of EV charging spaces across University Campus

The request was partially successful.

Dear University of Kent,

Hope you are well, especially given the current circumstances.

I am writing to you to submit an FOI request regarding electric vehicle (EV) parking and charging spaces across the University.

I would very much like to know:
1) The number of electric vehicle charging stations across all University campuses
2) The number of total car parking spaces across all University campuses
3) The number of dedicated electric vehicle parking spaces across all University campuses (if different from 1)
4) The number of spaces to secure bicycles across University Campuses
5) The average car parking cost (per hour) across all University Campuses
6) The average cost (per kWh) to charge an EV vehicle across University Campuses (excluding parking fees)
7) The provider of the EV charging facilities at the University

I'm aware this is a fair amount of questions, so if any of this may fall out of the budgetary constraints for this request - I would very much like the questions above prioritized by their order on the list with questions 1,2 & 3 being the most important.

I am happy to receive this data in which ever way is most convenient to you, including just the totals.

Thank you for your time.

Yours faithfully,

Martyn John

Dear Martyn John,

Thank you for your information request, received on 17/11/2020. Please
accept our apologies for the delay in response. Please find our response
as follows:

1) The number of electric vehicle charging stations across all University
campuses

22 (these are for University of Kent Vehicles only)

2) The number of total car parking spaces across all University campuses

2571 as per audit Dec 2019

3) The number of dedicated electric vehicle parking spaces across all
University campuses (if different from 1)

Same as question 1 - we are looking into installing electric vehicle
points on campus for non University of Kent vehicles, but this has been
delayed due to covid.

4) The number of spaces to secure bicycles across University Campuses

995 as per audit Jan 2020

5) The average car parking cost (per hour) across all University Campuses

Due to the varying permits available and the different prices charge
depending on if student/associate/staff (and staff permit prices depending
on monthly gross salary) and P&D prices for public, there is not really an
average cost of parking because there are many different pricing
structures. See the Parking website for more information:
[1]https://www.kent.ac.uk/transport/byroad/...

6) The average cost (per kWh) to charge an EV vehicle across University
Campuses (excluding parking fees)

This is zero as the charging points are not available for public use.

7) The provider of the EV charging facilities at the University

These are owned by the University of Kent, the type installed are Rolec
but we do not use a provider.
