FOI: MFL A-Level provision
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my enquiry as specifically as possible. If however this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you would contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. Please send via email in Excel or similar format within 20 working days.
In your response please also include the following details:
- Address
- Local authority
- Total pupils taking A-Levels
- Type of FE institution (e.g. college, sixth form etc)
Request: Please include a breakdown of each college which is part of your group if applicable.

- 1.2 Which foreign languages are taught?
- 1.3. How many students aged 16-19 currently take each foreign language course (breakdown by language if multiple)?
- 1.4. How many students aged 16-19 currently take any foreign language course in total?

information about our foreign languages teaching.
Response to information requested:

Answer: Yes
• 1.2 Which foreign languages are taught?
Answer: We teach French and Spanish as MFL and Latin as FL
• 1.3. How many students aged 16-19 currently take each foreign language
course (breakdown by language if multiple)?
Answer: Year 12 - French 6 students Spanish 6 students Latin 4 students
Year 13 - French 5 students Spanish 13 students Latin 7 students
• 1.4. How many students aged 16-19 currently take any foreign language
course in total?
Answer: 42 students
2. If you do not currently offer a foreign language A-Level, did you
previously? If so, what year was that stopped?
Answer: N/A
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your
original letter and should be addressed to: Jo Holdsworth / Tom Griffiths,
Co-Heads. Please provide full details of the reasons why you believe your
request was not handled properly.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
