Following the letter sent by the Department for Communities and Local Government regarding the safety of Large Panel System (LPS) buildings, can you provide details of the last time you carried out a structural survey of LPS blocks, what the survey found, and whether any action was taken as a result.

Dear Ms Basia Cummings

Please see below the response to your FOI request:

SBCs 7 tower blocks are reinforced concrete frames with some form of masonry infill panels. None of them are ‘system built’ such as Ronan Point. The year of construction of Harrow Court was 1966 it was built under the 1965 Building regulations that were enacted in 1966. Brent Court was built in 1967. Shaftesbury was built in 1970. Gladstone was built in 1971. Highplash, The Towers and Highcroft built in 1963 All blocks as far as I’m aware were last structural surveyed in 2005, unaware of remedial works that came out of the surveys. SBC have demolished: Chauncy, Bates, Bertram, Blomfield and Edwards House approx. 2000.
