FOI - Expenditure on equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
Dear Joint Council for Qualifications,
I wish to make an FOI request, as set out under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please can your organisation provide the following information:
a) The number of roles in your association (expressed in numbers of FTE), that are mainly or exclusively focussed on issues of equality, diversity, or inclusivity. For example, this could include (amongst other guises) “EDI officers” or “diversity and inclusion project managers” but would not include general HR managers.
b) Either a) the pay band of each of these roles, or b) the combined total salaries for these roles. Whichever measure is more in accordance with your data preferences.
c) In the past 12 months the number of staff days across your organisation which have been committed to attending equality training programmes, whether internally run or with external consultants. (staff days = duration of the training programme multiplied by the number of staff in attendance for the course). If unable to provide please mark as N/A in your return.
Please can this information be returned to me within 20 working days.
If your organisation does not hold information in relation to any of the letters please file as N/A and provide the rest of the information that you do hold.
Yours faithfully,
Art Lightfoot
(80 Arrol House, London, SE1 6QL)
Thank you for contacting the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). We
will endeavour to provide a response within five working days.
If your query relates to one of the following areas, please ensure it is
directed to the appropriate awarding organisation or JCQ email address.
Students and parents
The JCQ is a membership body representing the eight largest exam boards in
the UK. We publish guidance on the administrative processes for exams on
behalf of our members. This is intended for use by examination centres.
The JCQ is unable to give advice to students and parents, and we cannot
mediate between families and examination centres. Students and parents
with queries related to the Summer 2022 series should contact the senior
leadership team at their school, college or examination centre. There is
some guidance for students and parents on our website [1]here.
Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments:
Any queries from centres should be sent to [2][email address]
Special Consideration
Any queries from centres should be sent to the individual awarding body
whose exam was affected. JCQ is not involved in determining the outcome
of special consideration applications. Guidance on the process is given
[3]here.
Malpractice
Allegations of malpractice, suspected malpractice or malpractice incidents
should be sent by email to the relevant awarding body whose qualification
may have been affected. Contact details are listed [4]here.
Private Candidates
Candidates wishing to enter as private candidates can search for an
examination centre using the [5]JCQ search tool. The tool currently
contains details of centres that have volunteered to accommodate private
candidates for the Summer 2022 exam series. Data for Autumn 2022 is not
yet available.
