Good Afternoon

Stroud District Council will not make public business rate accounts in
credit as there is a significant risk that doing so would be an invitation
to those seeking to defraud the Council and the businesses who are
legitimately owed the credit.

The council exempts disclosure under section 31(1)(a) – Prejudice the
prevention or detection of crime. This decision is supported by [1]ICO
decision notice FS50643256.

Any business concerned about their balance can contact the councils
revenues team directly and do not need to use FOI legislation (Exemption:
Section 21 – information accessible to the applicant by other means.)

Kind Regards

Mrs L Rowlands
