FOI About climate changes

We're waiting for Gurvinder Sidhu to read recent responses and update the status.

Gurvinder Sidhu

We have asked the council's senior legal adviser to point us to the legislation that allows them to do this. We have also sought the advice of councillors in other councils who have told us that only the most sensitive of issues relating to finance, safeguarding and so on should be confidential.

While we fight this war of attrition behind the scenes, we would be grateful for as many residents as possible to make freedom of information requests of the council as follows. You might ask why multiple requests? Because then they will realise how residents feel.

'I am making a Freedom of Information request for the agenda papers and minutes of the Environment Advisory Group held on Tuesday 23 July 2019, and the agenda papers and minutes of the Transport Advisory Group held on Thursday 25 July 2019. I look forward to hearing from you within 20 working days.'

Then give your name and address so they know you are West Berkshire residents.

Send it to [email address]

Please keep me posted about the response you receive.

It's a shame we have to deal with such bureaucratic idiocy while the world burns, but at least we'll go down fighting.

Best wishes

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Request for information: Environment Advisory Group and Transport Advisory
Group agenda and minutes

I am writing to advise you that the authority is extending the time to
respond to your request by an additional twenty working days, under the
provisions of Regulation 7 of the Environmental Information Regulations
2004.

This is because the complexity and/or volume of the information requested
means that it is impracticable either to comply with the request or to
make a decision to refuse to do so within the earlier period.

A response will be provided as soon as possible and by no later than 20^th
September.

Yours sincerely,
