Dear Mr Hagon

I am now able to respond to your Freedom of Information request logged on 22nd August under reference 344108.

1/ Weekly amounts of reported Fly Tipped waste tonnage collected from the streets in the Colchester Borough.

Please see the attached spreadsheet. Weights are only for cage vehicles which are used for fly-tips that include items which cannot be loaded onto a dustcart. Smaller fly-tipped items are generally collected with street sweepings and the contents of litter bins.

2/ Weekly breakdown of reports by email, phone, SMS, social media, phone call and direct contact to Colchester Council reporting incidents of Fly Tipping in the Colchester Borough.

The attached spreadsheet shows the number of reports made by members of the public since August 2015. These will include duplicate reports of the same incident, reports of waste left out early or on the wrong week and inappropriate items left in bin stores and other communal areas of flats etcetera.

The method of contact is not held on fly-tipping records. Contact for all street-cleaning and waste issues is recorded when received as being by logged either by contact with a member of staff or directly online. Currently approximately 40% of all reports are made online using a form on our website. The majority of other reports are made by telephone and a smaller number by email.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this request please contact me again quoting the reference given above.

Yours sincerely
