Dear DWI Enquiries (DWI),
I made two typos in my request
I should have said "(as reported in 2012)"
and
"Please provide the coordinates (Lon/Lat) of each sample site"

Dear DWI Enquiries (DWI),
Many thanks for your email and the data you provided.
If you do not receive coordinate data are you telling me it is not collected (which seems very unprofessional) or that it is not available to you. Who actually collects the data (DWI or is it out-sourced)?
Please could you supply me with the location information for each Site Reference code (a post code would be better than nothing)
I assume the samples are measured in mg/L or ppm
Yours sincerely,
Dr John Studley
Dear Dr Studley,
Thank-you for your further enquiry regarding Fluoride results for London and South East England for 2011.
Water supply infrastructure is divided into zones for operational purposes of the Water Company concerned. The constraints around the designation of zones are set within the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 (as amended 2007 and 2010) and state that a zone must not have a population of >100,000 people and that the water quality across the zone must be 'approximately uniform'. Within the zones, Water Companies take random samples from properties in accordance with the schedules in the regulations, the numbers of samples being relative to the zone population so bigger zones have more samples taken. The site reference is a reference for the zone and is not a single point so does not have a lat/long or postcode.
Water companies provide us with the site reference of the zone where the sample was taken but we do not receive an address or a latitude and longitude. They will provide further identification of where the sample was taken for example a postcode for the sample however I am unable to release this to you as in rural areas the post code is sufficient to identify a single property and other members of the public have a right to expect reasonable privacy regarding samples taken in their homes.
In addition, I am sorry that I am unable to release the details of the boundaries of the operational zones as we are constrained under CPNI instruction (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) to not release details of national infrastructure.
Apologies for not indicating the units of measurement on the data that was sent. All samples are reported in mg Fluoride/litre. The drinking water standard is 1.5 mg/l.
