Dear Mr Cushenan,
Thank you for your email on 16th October 2016 where you requested information about
monies provided for and spent on flood defences. We have now completed searching for
the information you requested.
Response:
I would like to know how much money has been provided to the city for flood
defences in the financial years of 2014/15 and 2015/16. And how that money
has been spent on flood defences.
Worcester City Council does not have a statutory duty to administer or
maintain flood defences. The Environment Agency is the responsible authority
in this regard.
During the 2014/15 and 2015/16 financial years, Worcester City Council
received zero (£0) monies for the purpose of flood defences. For this reason no
money has been spent on flood defences by the Council during the financial
years stated.
