Flexible Support Fund FSF & UC

Claire made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department for Work and Pensions should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
I draw your attention to FOI IR 542 and 233. I am requesting clarification on the allocation of FSF for UC claimants.
We have been advised that the FSF is only applicable if a claimant was 'called' to an interview, in addition to any 'signing' days they already had. It is also noted that as there are no 'signing' days in UC, this is not applicable.
We have also been advised FSF is not available for travel costs?

1. Please can you clarify what FSF is actually applicable for?
2. When and how can this be accessed? and by whom?
3. Giving consideration to the Hansard Notes re: UC & FSF
4. Details of appeals and reconsideration routes
5. FOI 233; has this information/documentation been updated since this date?
6. DMs ( district managers) still have their own criteria?
7. Please can you clarify the availability of FSF and UC

Yours faithfully,
Claire Pearce-Crawford
