Josie Appleton made this Freedom of Information request to Brighton and Hove City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Brighton and Hove City Council,

I would like to know about your fixed penalty notices issued for environmental offences.

To make my request clear, I would like to know:

1. The number of fixed-penalty notices (FPN) issued for the following offences:
- distribution of free literature without a licence
- fly posting
- dog control
- littering

I would like to know the number of FPNs issued by council officials, for these four offences, for each year since 2006.

If any of these cases have proceeded to prosecution, please make this clear.

2. I would like to know the total number of council officials currently empowered to give out FPNs for these environmental offences.

3. Finally, I would like to know the council's income from these FPN, in the last year of available statistics.

Yours faithfully,

Josie Appleton
