Dear Information Commissioner's Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Information Commissioner's Office's handling of my FOI request 'First Class Travel'.

The request appears to have been interpreted as first class rail travel only. I would like ALL first class travel, which includes air travel.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Yours faithfully,

Michael Smith

Case Reference Number IRQ0889217

Dear Mr Smith,

I write in response to your email of 22 November 2019, in which you have
requested an internal review as you believe your request has been
interpreted as only relating to first class rail travel.

I can confirm that all forms of travel, including air travel, were
considered when preparing a response to your information request.  The
only first class travel identified was first class travel by rail. We do
not hold further information in scope of your request.

However, we may hold information relating to other classes of travel if
that is of interest to you. If you did wish to reframe or broaden your
request it would be treated as a new request under the FOIA.

In light of the above clarification, I would appreciate your confirmation
of whether you wish to progress with an internal review of your request.

Yours sincerely

Dear Information Commissioner's Office,

Thank you for your explanation. If I could make a new request for the air travel by SLT member, with the class and cost of each, in the last 12 months, I would be very grateful.

Thank you for your help

Yours faithfully,

Michael Smith

Dear Mr Smith,

We write in response to your recent request for information. We received
your request on 28 November 2019 and we are now in a position to respond.

We have dealt with your request in accordance with your ‘right to know’
under section 1(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

Request

In your email you asked us for:

A new request for the air travel by SLT member, with the class and cost of
each, in the last 12 months.

Response

We can confirm that we hold information in scope of your request. Please
find attached a table showing booking dates for air travel for the ICO
senior leadership team, with the class and cost of each trip. Please note
that the date in column A relates to the date the travel was booked, not
the date the travel was taken.

We have scoped ‘the last 12 months’ to mean 28 November 2018 to 27
November 2019.

This concludes our response to your information request. We hope the
information is helpful to you.

Review Procedure

If you are dissatisfied with this response and wish to request a review of
our decision or make a complaint about how your request has been handled
you can write to the Information Access Team at the address below or
e-mail [1][ICO request email].

Your request for internal review should be submitted to us within 40
working days of receipt by you of this response.  Any such request
received after this time will only be considered at the discretion of the
Commissioner.

If having exhausted the review process you are not content that your
request or review has been dealt with correctly, you have a further right
of appeal to this office in our capacity as the statutory complaint
handler under the legislation. To make such an application, please write
to our Customer Contact Team at the address given or visit our website if
you wish to make a complaint under the Freedom of Information Act.

A copy of our [2]review procedure can be accessed from our website.

Yours sincerely
