Dear London Fire Commissioner (London Fire Brigade),

hi i was wondfering if i could find out whether the fireground radios are being upgraded -due to the communications failiures within grenfell, i would also like to suggest them perhaps using TETRA on fireground rather then VHF/UHF, due to the clarity and less chances of conjestion which lead to multiple commms failures at grenfell

Dear Ricky,

Thank you for your request, dated 23 February 2019 regarding the replacement of fire ground radios.

In response, I can confirm that a Corporate Project is underway to replace the fire ground radios. The fire ground radio replacement project has been discussed at the Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee (FREP) and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) have issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to alert industry that we will be going out to tender for fireground radios and mobile repeaters.
