Fire Safety in Council-Owned Properties

Jessie Mathewson made this Freedom of Information request to Southwark Borough Council This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

We're waiting for Jessie Mathewson to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Southwark Borough Council,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I seek the following information about fire hazards at publicly owned housing in Southwark:

1. The number of residential properties owned by Southwark Council where Celotex RS5000 is used as insulation, and the proportion this represents of the total number of properties owned by the council.
2. A list of types of insulation currently used in properties owned by Southwark Council.
3. Details of any fire safety reviews ongoing in light of the Grenfell disaster.

I would prefer to receive this information electronically, preferably as a data set, i.e. inExcel, NOT as a PDF.

If the decision is made to withhold some of this data using exemptions in the Data Protection Act, please inform meof that fact and cite the exemptions used.

If some parts of this request are easier to answer than others, I would ask that you release the available data as soon as possible.

If you need any clarification then please do not hesitate to contact me. Under Section 16 it is your duty to provide advice and assistance, and so I would expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way, or if it would be better addressed to another body.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request as soon as possible, and I look forward to hearing from you within the 20-working day statutory time period.

Yours faithfully,
Jessie Mathewson
