Fire incident data
Dear Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service,
Please could you supply details of incidents which attract 8 and 8+appliances (I don't need relief crews only calls which attracted 8 crews or make pumps 8+) with the following information from January 2015:
Date, time, appliances and callsigns, specialist appliances (and what this is), officers and callsigns, Incident end time, type of incident, location, type of premises i.e. hospital, outcome i.e. fire or secondary fire.
For each incident please could you supply the stop message and all informative messages from officers or appliances. If you are able to supply informative messages from the 999 call or the free text the caller supplied for the call that would be appreciated.
Please could you supply separately which incidents the control unit has attended. I would be grateful if you could supply their logs and information so it can be married up to the general information above i.e. the silver notes they completed the the incident they attended. If this will put the request over the cost threshold please remove this part and I can submit as a different request.
If cost prohibits any of the full information please remove any section that would allow the request to be made.
Yours faithfully,
R Gray

INFORMATION REQUEST – REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION
Thank you for your request for information, reference number 16146. Please
quote this is any future correspondence you may have with us.
From our preliminary assessment, it is clear that we will not be able to
answer your request without further clarification.
The Council requires further information in order to identify and locate
the information you have asked for. In particular, your request for ‘logs
and information’ is too generic and unlikely to be available. Please could
you clarify whether it is just the informative messages from the control
unit you would like supplied or whether there is any other specific
information you are looking for.
Once you have clarified your request, we will be able to begin to process
your request. If clarification is not received within 20 working days (by
03 may 2018) your request will be considered to have lapsed.
Under section 1(3) of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), a public
authority need not comply with a request unless any further information
reasonably required to locate the information is supplied).
However, if after this date you still wish to proceed with your clarified
request we will be happy to log the request with a new reference number
and process it according to the relevant legislation.
Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.
Yours sincerely,
Becky

Dear Freedom of Information,
Informative messages would be fine but I thought generally at a large incident, the control unit would keep a bronze or silver log for the incident in addition to the main control log. If this proves difficult could you submit information relating to the 8+ incidents and not anything relating to the control unit.
Yours sincerely,
R Gray
