Fire fighter injuries

We're waiting for Joseph Villiers to read a recent response and update the status.

Joseph Villiers

Dear London Fire Commissioner (London Fire Brigade),

In the fire statistics data tables from the Gov.uk web site, tables FIRE 0508b give fire fighter injuries for all Fire Authorities. Within this, it states that the exact figures for which incidents London Firefighters were injured at (2016/17) are estimated, as London could not be specific as to which type of incident the injuries occured at, i.e. at a fire or special service.

Please could you provide me with the up to date information as to which type of incident the injury occured at.

Please could you inform me if it was an ordinary RIDDOR or a MAJOR injury as defined within that data sheet.

Yours faithfully,

Joseph Villiers

London Fire Brigade

Dear Joseph,

Thank you for your request, dated 17 July 2018 requesting updated stats of the Gov.uk data regarding firefighter injuries.

In response, please see the information set out in table attached. This data is from the 2017/18 DCLG annual returns – all op staff injuries are grouped together as we are unable to tell with certainly what type of incident the injury occurred on.

As always I hope you find this response of use. Should you have any questions do let me know.
