Dear Alessandro,

Thank you for your request, dated 4 September 2018 regarding fire safety action taken on school facilities by the London Fire Brigade (LFB).

For ease, I have addressed your points in turn below:

For the time period 2007 to 2017

1) How many fire checks have been undertaken at schools in the area covered by your fire department for each of the years mentioned?

Please see the data set out in the attached spreadsheet 'School fire safety audits 2007 - 2017'.

2) For each year, I would ask for the number of enforcement notices issued to schools who failed the fire checks undertaken.

As part of a recent FOIA request submitted in June 2018 we compiled a list of all notices (both enforcement and prohibition) issued since the introduction of our electronic public notices register. I have filtered these returns to include those issued on 'schools' only. As a result please see the attached 'School notices issued 2010 - 2017'.

I do hope you find this information of use. Should you have any further questions do let me know.

Your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). If you are dissatisfied by this response you can request an internal review by writing to the Head of Information Management at the address below (or email [email address]).

Further information about your information rights (including how to raise a concern or make a complaint) is available from the Information Commissioner’s Office on their website at www.ico.org.uk or by writing to them at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
