Fire appliance refuelling

The request was successful.

Garry Livingstone

Dear Cleveland Fire Brigade,

I was wondering as I work in a fuel station and we have a number of police and ambulance crews come in to pay for fuel for their vehicles. However I have never seen any fire appliances go to a public fuel station. How are fire appliances refuelled between call outs and during a major incident. Also how are they filled with water between call outs. I live not far from grangetown fire station and I have never seen any fuel tankers visit the station however I always see the appliances come and go when needed. So they must refuel somehow and somewhere

Yours faithfully,
Garry Livingstone

We have a network of Fuel Storage facilities which the Fire Appliances use
to re fuel.  Occasionally, we do use local Filling Stations as and when
required.

We also use Fire Hydrants to fill our Fire Appliances with Water.
