Jim Cabtree made this Freedom of Information request to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear North Wales Fire and Rescue Service,

I am looking for the report of the fire at the meadows capel curing in 1991 or 1992 in which two people died.

Yours faithfully,

Jim Crabtree

Brian Mottershead, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service

Dear Sir,

I hereby acknowledge your request for information, as detailed below.

Please note that, because North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) had a charging scheme in place for such reports before the Freedom of Information Act came into force, the Service is entitled to charge for the provision of the report. The relevant charges can be found on the NWFRS web site here - http://www.nwales-fireservice.org.uk/abo...

Please advise whether or not you wish to continue with this request.

Yours faithfully,

Brian Mottershead

why not ask for details of the incident log and not the fire report which should be free under FOI

Lee Gardiner left an annotation ()

This fire report would not be free as the charges for such reports are shown as part of the Service's website (and so be definition part of their FOI publication scheme).

As such even if available under FOI NWFRS can charge the published fees to provide this information.

Its also worth noting that they may not have incident reports/logs going back over 20 yrs and if they do they may not be easily retrievable.

Also Incident Logs form part of the fire report and as such would be chargable as per the publication scheme (usually as an extract report for most FRS)

Dear Brian Mottershead,

Thank you for your information, I would like to continue with my original request, how do I go about receiving it and who would I make the cheque to?

Yours sincerely,

Jim Crabtree
