Fines imposed by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT)
Dear Her Majesty’s Treasury,
The SDT is responsible for ordering fines against solicitors, but HM Treasury is responsible for the collection of those fines.
Please advise:
a) The total amount of fines ordered by the SDT against solicitors in each of the last five years.
b) The total amount of fines ordered by the SDT which were collected in each of the last five years.
c) As of 31 March, 2017, the outstanding amount owed in unpaid fines ordered by the SDT.
