3) A list of banks currently holding funds for you and an approximate amount held by each bank.

Request for information under Freedom of Information Act

Thank you for your request for information regarding Pension Fund
 received on 31st March 2022. Please find enclosed information as
requested. Please accept our apologies for the delay in the response.

1) Whether your pension fund(s) has any exclusion criteria against
indiscriminate weapons, weapons of mass destruction, or nuclear weapons
1a) What such exclusion criteria are, if any
1b) The amount invested in your pension fund

We do not hold this data and an enquiry will have to be made of the
Hertfordshire Pension Fund.

2) Whether you hold any non-pension investments in funds, and whether they
have any exclusion criteria against indiscriminate weapons, weapons of
mass destruction, or nuclear weapons
2a) What such exclusion criteria are, if any
2b) What amount is currently invested
As at 31^st March 2022 the council held three non-pension Fund
investments, as follows:

£2.99m in the Royal London RL Short Term Fixed Income Fund.

£90.11n in Royal London Sustainable Diversified Trust

%.11m in Royal London Sustainable Managed Growth Trust.

The funds specifically excludes investments in Armaments – Manufacture of
Armaments, nuclear weapons or associated strategic products.  Further
details about the fund can be obtained from Royal London Asset Management

3) A list of banks currently holding funds for you and an approximate
amount held by each bank.
As at 31^st March 2022, the council held £8.37m with Lloyds Bank Plc.  
There were no other bank deposits at this time.

4) Whether the council has any internal exclusion policies relating to
investment in, or banking with institution that are financially linked
with, indiscriminate weapons, weapons of mass destructions, or nuclear
weapons.
4a) What such exclusion policies are
The Council’s Investment Policy is published as part of the Capital and
Treasury Management Strategy.  The Council has no specific exclusion
policies related to the types of weapon listed.  The Council’s approved
lending list is developed in conjunction with its Treasury Management
Advisors and is restricted to UK entities subject to UK law and
regulation.

 

If you are not satisfied with my response to your request you may ask for
the request to be reconsidered. You can do this either by letter or by
emailing [Watford Borough Council request email] . The request will be considered  by a
different officer. If you still remain dissatisfied with our response
after this you may write to the Information Commissioner.
