I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(“the Act”).

 

1) Department for Education finance management forms part of a shared
service, which is outsourced to a jointly owned company, Shared Services
Connected Limited (SSCL). The ownership of this company is 80% SopraSteria
Ltd and 20% Cabinet Office.  

2) DfE uses a central DfE product, developed in house by DfE.

5) The contract was originally let in November 2013 until November 2020
where there is an option to extend for a further 3 years

9) The overall DfE IT budget is £41.3 million.
