Finance Office Staff Studying at the University

James McNeel made this Freedom of Information request to University of Glasgow

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was refused by University of Glasgow.

Dear University of Glasgow,

Who authorised that Julie Lee (Finance Office) could attend a MBA course?

Please provide me with the justification for the payment of the tuition fee (totalling in the region of £14,000) by the University for Julie Lee to attend the above course?

How many Finance Office staff were offered the same opportunity to attend University degree courses over the past 5 years?

Yours faithfully,

James McNeel

Dear University of Glasgow,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Glasgow's handling of my FOI request 'Finance Office Staff Studying at the University'.

The request has been handled in a particularly poor manner and the response does not comply with the Act.

This request for internal review is using the same numbering convention as your response.

1. In response to another request you published the names of members of an interview panel see http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/fi... . Why don't you disclose the name of the person responsible for approving a request?

2. What happed to transparency and accountability? The FoI’s chief obligations are transparency and openness. You must be transparent and demonstrate that all staff are treated equally and fairly.

3. Your link does not provide any information about the number of Finance Office staff who were offered the same opportunity to attend University courses over the past five years.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

James McNeel

Once again Mr Newall has made a statement without checking his facts. The FoI request mentioned in his letter (the University Reference FO128644) is about a different timeframe.
Mr Newall seems to have a habit of making statements without checking his facts. There are a great number of his gaffs in this site for example see:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/st...
or

Just a word of warning - Unprofessionalism drastically diminishes any future employment prospects.
