Figures for number of disabled moved out of borough

We're waiting for Brendan Scott to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Barnet Borough Council,

Apologies, I have amended my previous request to include additional years of data:

I would like to know the number of adults and children with disabilities - whether physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties or anything else that is defined as a disability - who have been moved out of borough to cheaper accommodation, whether that be temporary or permanent.

I would like to know the figures for children and adults in aggregate and also separately.

Please could you provide this information for the ten full years from and including 2005 to 2014.

Yours faithfully,

Brendan Scott

Sarah Laws,

Thanks for getting back to me Sarah.

I'll explain what I'm looking at and hopefully that will help. There's an ongoing crisis in London, as I'm sure you're aware, that people living on housing benefits are having to be moved out of borough because their housing benefits are being cut at the same time as rents are rising.

I'm interested to know how this trend is impacting those with disabilities.

So I'd like to know how many people with disabilities who receive housing benefits are being moved out of different London borough because their existing accommodation is no longer affordable.

I'd also like to know how many disabled children whose families receive housing benefits are being moved out of borough because their existing accommodation is no longer affordable.

Hopefully this clarifies the information I'm requesting.

Yours sincerely,

Brendan Scott

Dear Sarah Laws,

Thank you for your response.

Can you be specific about what info you do not hold?

Do you hold info on the number of disabled people who have been moved out of borough for the years outlined above (discounting whether they were moved into cheaper accommodation)? If so, please can you provide this instead.

I've been told by other London borough councils that they do hold information on the number of disabled people who have been moved out of borough.

Yours sincerely,

Brendan Scott

Dear Mr Scott

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for your email.  I have been informed we hold no information
about people who are disabled and have moved out of borough because their
accommodation is unaffordable as this is not recorded.
